About me, hmmm . . . let’s see. I’m a July baby that was actually born in Minnesota, but have lived in Arizona long enough to be an official “Arizonian.” I still believe, however, in the greatness that is the Minnesota Twins and the potential that is the Minnesota Vikings. I can’t stand the Lakers or Spurs, nor am I a fan of Shaq as a Phoenix Sun. I cheer for the Colts and despise the Pats. But I digress. . .
Don’t let the blond hair in my pictures confuse you–I’m a big nerd who loves to read, play sports, watch weird indie flicks and Sunday morning football, listen to music (I love Nirvana, A Perfect Circle, Tool, KT Tunstall, Placebo, Incubus, and Muse to name a few) and write everything from short stories to screenplays.
My friends and family consider me to be “hilarious” which ironically, I take very seriously. In other words, one of the greatest things I love to do is to make and hear my family and friends laugh. It truly is the greatest feeling and I hope to do so until my last breath.
As for the soul of me, I hope it’s fairly obvious. My passion for traveling began with my passion for writing. In high school, I dreamt often of two things: writing the next great novel and backpacking through Europe. So far, I’ve done one while researching to do the other. From August through October 2006, I ventured across western Europe through seven countries and 23 cities for the greatest life experience I’ve ever had!
In my 27 years on this earth, the things I know I’m good at are writing, making people laugh, packing a suitcase, and drinking red wine. What I want to be great at doing? Hopefully maintaining this website and helping fellow passionate travelers see what great things this world has to offer. It is my pledge to do just that with this site. I often tell Ali she’s the brains and I’m the whatever else, but together we make an incredible and intelligent team.
We both have a lot of heart, but individually, we deliver many different avenues and I guarantee throughout the Get There Girls site, you’ll get to know the contributions I personally will bring you and continue to improve upon.

So a little about me…
I was born in Arizona 25 years ago and have lived there all my life. During my quarter-century on Earth, I have developed a love for many things: wine, good food, living healthy, being active, and of course… ice cream… 
But above all else, I have developed a love for traveling.
Living in the sun and heat has made me love being outdoors and experiencing all a place has to offer. After graduating from Arizona State University, I decided to get out there and see other parts of the world before I settled down into a “normal” job. I backpacked solo around four countries for three months, and, needless to say, I was hooked…I still haven’t gotten that “normal” job and I’m still excited every day to think of what I might get to see next.
There is so much natural beauty and so many man-made marvels on this planet it can get quite overwhelming. But, I’ve found that writing a short list of your immediate travel goals helps to make them seem much more attainable. Currently, my traveling goals include: Fiji, Switzerland, Florida, Australia, Oregon and the Bahamas! I can’t wait to get started on my itineraries!
When I’m not traveling (or planning my next trip!), I love to sing, play volleyball, swim, watch Will & Grace re-runs, cook yummy vegetarian recipes, and laugh with my family and friends. I try to live life to the fullest and not stress the little things (although we all know how hard that can be sometimes!). I choose sugar over salt, rock over hip-hop, warm over cold, wine over beer, Family Guy over The Simpsons, tank tops over T-shirts,and comedy movies over all others. I guess that’s a little bit about what makes me…me!
